Storyline

Talking heads. A look at the art of ventriloquists. The first half examines basic issues, such as establishing two clear personalities for "vent" and dummy, the importance of not moving lips, the range of comedy that's possible, and the doors that opened when Jay Johnson appeared on "Soap" with his dummy. Several contemporary entertainers and historians comment. The second half profiles the best known ventriloquists -- Paul Winchell, Senor Weñces, Edger Bergen, and Jimmy Nelson - and assesses their strengths. The film closes with an assessment of ventriloquism's future. Included are many clips of performances. Written by <jhailey@hotmail.com>

This Film was wonderfully put together with clips of both current and some of the pioneers of ventriloquists along with the history of "venting". It also did a great job showing us how these talented people actually pull off the impossible art they have perfected. The film kept me interested from start to finish, and has escalated my interest in ventriloquism. The people behind this film should be recognized for their great job in truly showing what ventriloquism is really about. Fans of "venting" must check this film out for a true "behind the scenes look" at what I consider a art that most of us know nothing about. Thanks and job well done.
