Row Hard No Excuses is a fascinating portrait of teamwork, partnership, and endurance - and how these two middle-aged rowers are still setting out to prove something to their fathers. This film follows the American team in a harrowing two-person team rowing race across the Atlantic, sometimes taking months. Teams must build their own boats according to strict guidelines and invest huge sums of money - and that's before punishing their bodies to the extreme. Some teams deal with the stress through humor, others collapse into failure (which means burning their boat). Beautifully filmed and edited, the film leads the viewer on roller coaster of emotions felt by the rowers during the race, as well as the aftermath.
