David Main goes in the brewery business. He spends his own money buying shares in a brewery that is facing a hostile takeover from Neville Carson.
Main has joined forces with Warren Iveson who also wants to buy the brewery from his father in law, Sir George Andrews. Both men do not get on.
Main needs a quick profit as he wants to buy a house in London for £70,000. His new marital home.
It is a complex deal and a race against time. Main encourages the workers of the brewery to buy shares. He also needs to outsmart both Carson and Andrews.
The corporate part is not that exciting. Main is in his element on the chase though.
I guess £70,000 was a fortune for a house in London back in 1972. In retrospect a bargain.
