The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Sex & Nudity: 7/10

There is no nudity or on screen depiction of sexual conduct, but the plot revolves around a nun who suspects a priest of molesting a young boy. Non-graphic discussion of child molestation occurs throughout most of the film.

Violence & Gore

Violence & Gore: 1/10

One boy gets a nosebleed. Sister Aloysius smacks the back of another boy's head. The troubled boy's mother says his father abuses him and that the boy would've been killed in the public schools and that his father would kill him for suspected homosexuality.

Profanity

Profanity: 2/10

One use of "bullshit" by a boy. No other profanity; the words "damned" and "hell" are used in a religious context. One use of "negro."

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: 2/10

Part of the accusation involves alcohol smelled on the student's breath. Later, it is said that he drank altar wine, but whether this is true or not is also undetermined.

Frightening/Intense Scenes: 5/10

The movie gets pretty intense with the accusations of molestation. Mature topics are involved. The film could pass for a thriller.

Total content: 14/50.
