Ends Justify The Means? Sometimes, But It Causes Internal Friction Here
18 December 2008 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

"Do the ends justify the means?" is the big question here in this tale of "reverse forensics." In essence, a fake murder is staged so that a real bad-guy comes out of hiding, thinking he's safe. Then he can be arrested for the murder which we see at the top of the show.

This was the first episode I've seen this season that was a little on the boring side. That's very, very unusual for a CSI show, so I'm not complaining. It did have an interesting finish, however, after "Nick Stokes" (George Eads) catches on that he and some of his colleagues are being led astray by "Catherine Willows" (Marg Helgenberger) and "Michael Keppler (Liev Schreiber). They aren't too happy about it.

The how and whys of the operation, I'll leave to you to discover. It is interesting to see the CSI team take sides against each other, even if just for a small time.

After watching this show for seven years, I've always thought that Eads and Gary Dourdan ("Warrick Brown") were the best people on the show, and this episode makes me still believe that.
