Wow, this turned out to be a very dramatic episode and a sad ending. It's a case of a big mistake made in the past coming back to haunt a basically good person. The dirty people around him, especially a father-figure-type guy, all combine to ruin the man. I've tried to be as general as possible, as to not spoil things even though I did put a spoiler-alert on the review.
One good thing: CSI boss "Gil Grissom" (William Petersen) is back. I didn't expect him for another week. He's got a nasal-sounding cold, too, but that's never mentioned. He's got a lot of mail on his desk and one of the packages, you can bet, is another dollhouse. Hopefully, that will be dealt with next week.
Liv Schreiber did a decent job filling in for the absent Peterson. "Michael Keppler," didn't have the warmth and appeal of "Grissom," but he was tolerable. Several CSI people, including "Catherine," seemed to like him a lot.
Len Cariou was excellent in the guest-starring role of "Frank McCarty," a cop who knew "Keppler" back in his Trenton, New Jersey, days.
