The character of Bessie Higgenbottom was based upon a childhood picture of co-creator Cynthia True as a brownie scout, and Cassie McMadison, an unhinged brownie scout Amy Poehler played in several episodes of her series "Upright Citizens Brigade" (1998). Bessie's likeness is based upon childhood pictures of Amy Poehler.

Girls Will Be Girls

Watching Might B is like any other girlie high school movie or show, for example "The Mean Girls", or in life itself. There's always going to be a nerd or a group of nerds, and there's always be popular girls with high maintenance, hip fashion, glamour and all. Every girl situation, there always be a nerd and a princess. Might B is the same way. In the girl scout club called "Honeybee", Bessie Higgenbottom, a young 9 3/4 year old ambitious girl whose goal in life is to collect all the girl scout badges and be the best "Bee" (which makes her Mighty B) in the girl scout group. Portia is the oh so popular girl, know-it-all in the Honeybee girl scout club. She's a bratty, snippy, conniving, self centered rich girl. Portia's mother, Mrs. Gibbons, is the head leader of Honeybee who loves cosmetics and has the same attitude like her daughter Portia.

The show is about Bessie, a little girl who ventures to collect all girl scout badges. Her life revolves around her girl scout friends--Penny, Portia, Gwen, her dog named Happy who can understand each other, her little brother Ben, her mom, Mrs. Hilary Higgenbottom, and Bessie's shrink named finger--its Bessie's left hand index finger. Every episode has a meaningful lesson for all girl scouts and girls alike.

From a creative point of view, Amy Poehler of Saturday Night Live, Erik Wiese of Spongebob Squarepants and Cynthia True of The Fairly OddParents created a brilliant cartoon for all ages. Like the theme songs of Spongebob Squarepants and The Fairly OddParents, Might B has a catchy, fun and happy-go-lucky theme song. It will definitely stick in your minds because that's how cartoons are made.
