Pronounce correctly, Please!
14 February 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

New London is named for London, England, and its river is also the Thames. But in Connecticut they pronounce it ''Thaymes.'' Attracted by a natural harbor where Long Island Sound meets the Atlantic, John Winthrop Jr. and a band of Puritans settled in 1646.

**** In 1705 Groton (rhymes with ''rotten'') became a separate community. It was named for the home town of the Winthrops.

The name of the community is mispronounced incorrectly a number of times. Closer research of the community that is being portrayed is needed for this show.

One bad....many other GOOD aspects for a truly fantastic show. Is this the fault of continuity, or of the writer(s). Someone should have caught it.
