London — “Downton Abbey” actress Jessica Brown Findlay, Tom Wilkinson, who was Oscar nominated for “In the Bedroom” and “Michael Clayton,” and Andrew Scott (“Sherlock,” “Pride,” “Spectre”) have joined the cast of Simon Aboud’s “This Beautiful Fantastic,” which starts to shoot this week in London.

The feature project has been greenlit by Ambi Group principals Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi, with Christine Alderson and her Ipso Facto production banner.

If you like this crude teen comedy, you’ll love this bleak holocaust drama! Netflix is suggesting The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas to Inbetweeners fans – so what’s the oddest suggestion you’ve had online?

Given the sheer exhaustive quantity of titles available to watch on Netflix, a helping hand with what to watch is a welcome innovation. One would assume, with the size and capabilities of the platform growing by the week, that any recommendation algorithm would be a slick, reliable tool.

But this week has shown that might not be so true. According to The Mirror, two teenagers were looking for a film to watch in the vein of gross-out teen comedy The Inbetweeners Movie. Netflix’s suggestion? Harrowing holocaust drama The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.

Cinema Retro mourns the loss of our friend, actor Richard Johnson, who has passed away at age 87. Johnson was a classically trained actor, having attended Rada and was also one of the founding members of the Royal Shakespeare Company. His acting career was interrupted by service in the Royal Navy during WWII but Johnson resumed his profession at the end of the war. He alternated between playing small parts in feature films and leading roles in stage productions. In 1959, he got his first significant screen role starring with Frank Sinatra and young Steve McQueen and Charles Bronson in the WWII film "Never So Few".  He was initially offered the role of James Bond but turned down the opportunity. He died at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea after a short illness.

The London-born actor - who was a founding member of the Royal Shakespeare Company - had a career spanning 60 years on stage, television and film.

Most recently, he starred in Radiator which won the inaugural Audience Award at Glasgow Film Festival. He attended the festival to discuss it. Other film roles included Khartoum - alongside Charlton Heston and Laurence Olivier - and The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas.

Glasgow Film Festival co-director Allan Hunter said: “I think we all realised how lucky were to have Richard as a guest at this year’s Glasgow Film Festival. He was unfailingly gracious and charming, deservedly proud of his work in Radiator but »

British star was known for performances in The Haunting and Tomb Raider among others.

Veteran British star Richard Johnson has died at the age of 87, his family has said.

Johnson was a distinguished stage and television actor whose screen career stretched over six decades.

He was under contract to MGM in the late 1950s, co-starring with Frank Sinatra and Steve McQueen in Never So Few (1959).

Major roles followed in The Haunting (1963), The Amorous Adventures Of Moll Flanders (1965), opposite his second wife Kim Novak, Khartoum (1966) and Oedipus The King (1967).

Johnson was also active as a writer and producer and was a founding member of United British Artists, producing Turtle Diary (1985) and The Lonely Passion Of Judith Hearne (1987).

More recent film work included Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas (2008) and his final role in Radiator (2014), winner of the first Audience Award at the Glasgow Film Festival in March this year, which was attended »
