It is a half-term holiday and Robbie decides to show Ziggy around London. Zammo bumps into Roland in the arcade, where Roland works part-time in the change booth. Roland is introduced to Zammo's dubious-looking friends and lets them use the back room, supposedly to cut Zammo's hair. Laura and Julia are out shopping, planning to go to an all-night party. They bump into Louise, who is preoccupied looking after her two brothers, but she seems reluctant to talk. At the River Thames, Ziggy and Robbie sneak onto a pleasure boat, pretending to part of a group, but they are caught, and are fast running out of money. Robbie tells of the time, years ago, when he saw bodies in an open crypt in a church, and for the want of anything else to do, they decide to go back there. They "break" their journey at the tube station, escaping the wrath of the ticket collector.
