Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Implied prostitution during a scene where the mystic man appears. Hookers with cleavage appears outside the building as well. No nudity or sex scenes.

Cleavage throughout.

Lots of strong violence, especially for the Wizard of oz including demonic possession, interrogation, beatings, deceit, shootings, kidnappings, fist-fights, monster attacks, separation, mind-control, moderate disturbing images, stalking, fear and more, although its usually presented with a lack of graphic detail (blood). Nonetheless, its presentation despite being presented as action & fantasy, may still easily frighten or upset young children & more sensitive people, although most older children & teenagers will probably be less frightened. Definitely varies by person. Even more than this, is the emotional impact. The theme & peril at times overpowers the violence on screen making it seem far more intense than it actually is. The pain and emotions the characters experience seem very realistic and definitely will make even those with less of a heart feel some compassion. Definitely not the same family film most people grew up with, although there are lots of films with exponentially more violence out there. Also note, no musical numbers in this version, though thats not really frightening.

Mild obscenities here and there. Nothing that needs to be edited for television.

Suggested MPAA rating: PG-13 for intense & prolonged sequences of fantasy & action violence including terror, emotional scenes, scary images & a viscous beating, intense plot material, a scene of sensuality & some language.

Total score: 22/50
