Marin returns to New York and begins to realize how much she misses the big city -- restaurants, book stores, men who dress in suits. When her snooty building representative tells her she needs to move back or move out, she decides to move back; but when her apartment "turns on" her, she changes her mind and returns to Elmo. Meanwhile in Elmo, Annie and Patrick break up over his neglecting her in favor of his new extended family, and Ben decides to reconcile with his soon-to-be-ex. Jack finally breaks down and reads the New Yorker article about him, and tries to tell Marin he is falling for her; when he goes to meet her at the float plane, it's his ex-girl friend Lynn who gets off, not Marin.
