Storyline

Scooby and the gang find an abandoned farmhouse after running out of gas; but the farmer tries to run them off with a shotgun, believing them to be reporters. Ever since witnesses have reported a mysterious spacecraft nearby, the newspaper men have been pestering him. They especially want to know about the glowing footprints all around the farmhouse--and the glowing, ghostly spaceman who has been making them. The gang has found another mystery; and it takes them to an abandoned airfield. There they see the spaceman--and hear the hideous cackling from his skull-like head--for themselves. A newspaper, fresh food and a newly fueled jeep are among the many clues that lead them to a solution; but a wind tunnel will blow the decisive clue right before their eyes. Written by J. Spurlin

Scooby Doo, Where Are You!

S1E15: Spooky Space Kook (1969)

Scooby, Shaggy and the gang find themselves on an abandoned military base where they see a UFO and then a glowing alien. This fifteenth episode in the series is another winner and without question one of the best produced. This episode offers up all sorts of goodies for fans of the show but the highlight is without question the monster. The alien creature has a terrific look to it including the blue glowing lights and of course the skeleton face and its red flashing light. To me this here is one of the greatest monsters that the gang ever went up against and even better is its eerie laugh that certainly had me closing my eyes when I was a kid. The episode has a terrific atmosphere as the old military base was just a perfect setting and the broken down planes just added to the fun. Scooby gets a lot of good moments as does Shaggy and the rest of the regular players. Even the farmer is put to good use in his couple scenes.
