Maria de Medeiros,

At the beginning of the twentieth century , in "Cencielles" a small village asturian, arrives "Urbano", which is a person liberal and idealistic to work as secretary of the Town Hall. "Urbano"(Alex Gonzalez) falls in love with "Estrella" (Paula Echevarria) and decide marry. But the neutrality of "Urbano"before one of the political groups in the Town Hall, you create a enmity that ends in a terrible revenge against the couple lovers Sunday prior to his wedding. The film itself is a portrait of the rural environment of the era dominated by the "chieftaincy" that shows in the film his face brutal. The Asturian scenario, so handled by José Luis Garci in several films are excellent, and the main characters are accurate. I liked in his role Alfredo Landa , and Carlos Larrañaga. Their characters seem made for them The Script of the film passes from melodrama to the tragedy sharply with an explosion of violence that recalls the film "El Crack". I liked that clash of feelings between the protagonist "urbano" and his father "Joaco", that even if you understand each other, are incompatible. It is a film by Jose Luis Garci has achieved a big success.
