A 19-year-old is murdered in her home. Two others in the house didn't hear or see anything because one is a baby and other is a deaf woman. It was her daughter that was killed. The story turns out to be all about the husband of the baby, and his desire not to have the child grow up deaf. Marlee Matlin, easily the most famous deaf person to become a known name in the acting profession, plays "Mrs. Mitchum."
The secondary story involves an ice skater who is killed while practicing for a big upcoming event. At first, it's not sure if she is the intended or the skater who was scheduled to be on the ice at that moment. Real-life skating star Sasha Cohen guest stars in this segment.
A third story involves Mack's romance with Peyton and the episode finishes with that subject.
All in all, none of the stories were bad but none of them were riveting, either, meaning a so- so episode with an extra star for the realistic guest stars.
