Compacted But Viewers Become Impressed With The Personal Qualities Of Moses
In "The Miracle Rod",Superbook takes Chris,Joy and Gizmo at different events of Moses' life.
First, they were taken during the time when he was an infant. His sister,Miriam put him on a basket and was placed on the Nile River to escape death after the Pharaoh of Egypt ordered the murder of all male Israelite infants. The daughter of the Pharaoh found the basket and decided to take care of the baby. When Miriam saw this happened, she volunteered to take care of the baby.
After this,we get to see our main character go forward in time when Moses was 80 years old.During this time,he spoke to God via a burning bush and was asked to deliver the Israelites from slavery out of Egypt. In it,we get to witness the different plagues that Egypt suffered, the parting the Red Sea and the experiences of the Israelites in the wilderness in their journey to the Promise Land.At the end of the episode, our main characters particularly Joy becomes impressed with Moses that she was willing to interview him for their school paper but was cut short when Superbook took them back into their time.
Although I consider the episode too compacted the story of Moses and the many important events that transpired during the Exodus,I think that it manages to make the young viewers be inspired by the great qualities of one of the most important man of the Old Testament. We get to see great leadership qualities that helped the people of Israel out of slavery and a great man who successfully carried out God's mission.
