Breakthrough in animation and one incredible experience!
jpanimation28 August 2007
If your a fan of Hanna-Barbera or animation in general, you owe it to yourself to experience this attraction! Let me start off by saying if you didn't see this attraction at Universal Studios Florida, you've missed out, and will never be able to get the full experience! If done anywhere else, you will miss out on the immersive theming in the attraction and in the preshow, and the biggest loss is the incredible post show.

The show has great animation (combining computer generated backgrounds and traditionally animated characters flawlessly), a very fun story, and is a very engaging experience! Fun for both adults and children.

It's replacement, Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast, is also fun, but just doesn't have that certain charm that you got with Yogi helming your ride.

Highly recommended!!!

A totally awesome ride!

Warning: Spoilers
The story tells that Dick Dastardly and Muttley have kidnapped Elroy Jetson. You board a rocket ship with Yogi Bear and Boo Boo to rescue Elroy through the world of The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo and The Jetsons.

I will say that the ride is totally awesome and another one of my favorite Universal Studios classic rides, aside from Kongfrontation and Jaws. I've been on the ride when I was 8 years old and I really enjoyed it. The cartoon creators William Hanna and Joesph Barbera made real life appearances in the attraction and shows everyone how they made cartoons. The ride opened in 1990 and it was the first ride to feature computer-generated imagery. Unfortunately it's sadly no longer here. Cause in 1998, Universal officials noticed that the ride had lost a large percentage of its operating capacity, most likely due to declining interest in Hanna-Barbera cartoons, and they secretly began working on a new attraction to replace it. The Funtasic World Of Hanna-Barbera permanently closed on October 20th, 2002, and was replaced with Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast in 2003. I was so upset that it was gone.

Overall this a very classical awesome Universal Studios ride and we'll never forget about it.

A great ride!

This was a really great ride at Universal Studios Florida, and is much better then Jimmy Neutron. You would climb on this Hanna-Barbera rocket with Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo and save Elroy from Dick Dastardly. The storyline was excellent, the ride was fun and thrilling and the whole experience was unforgettable. This ride was always worth a 75 minute wait. If your at universal and that's the wait time for Jimmy Neutron, you probably should'nt bother. The ride contained a whole cast full of classic Hanna-Barbera characters, most of whom were voiced by the original actors. It also had a special appearance by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. This ties up with Kongfrontation and Back to the Future: The Ride as the best former attraction at the park. If you weren't able to see this ride before it closed down, watch the ride-film on youtube. A must see!
