Quotes

Bob: This is really starting to freak me out now. Just tell me the point of this game: why am I stuck in here?
Matrix: I'm a Pantsu heavy trainer, you are a Pantsu heavy X. A mutant creature. I keep you in that tiny container and release you to fight for me.
Bob: You keep creatures in cages and release them just to fight?
Matrix: Yeah?
Bob: That is SICK!

"Bobzilla, I release thee!"
27 October 2016 | by (ukwitchcountry) – See all my reviews

Two Bobs, one shiny and knew that looks just like Bob looked before he was unceremoniously shot into the web by Megabyte, who appeared immediately after the menace of Daemon was extinguished, the other who had recently returned after being lost for a long time is war torn and imperfect, and nobody knows who the real one is... It just be one blooming thing after another in Mainframe! The group have been living with the new more upbeat Bob for a little while and pretty much everyone has taken a liking to him, while the older-looking Bob has kind of quietly become something of an outsider and is being ignored, and Dot is troubled by hilarious dreams about the situation and can't decide to which Bob her heart truly belongs... It's all rather a tad on the campy soap opera side, but to be fair it is an interesting idea, there's no villains at all, just a weird love triangle story arc and a couple of terrific games, it's a big shift in tone from all the recent strife and heartbreak of Daemon's invasion and Hexadecimal's noble sacrifice, and it feels like it takes things back to their roots so to speak and I find it a welcome change of pace. The game that features is outstanding, not only is it a funny scathing full-on Pokemon parody but the beautiful toon-shaded look of the animation makes it the most unique-looking game of the series. I love the Friskachu! I actually really love the opening sequence that sees Reboot finally parodying itself, which works tremendously well and is so funny and clever in how it paints a clear picture of what's happening in the system. A tiny plot point that I do find stupid as hell is the binomes in Al's Diner griping about how they miss being virals, that's so ridiculous! Watching it for the first time I had no idea that the new Bob was really a dark invader in disguise, but even if you don't know the big surprise something just doesn't feel right about the guy somewhere anyway, he wins over Matrix a little too easily, with the former renegade not even minding being called Enzo again by him. If you ask me a big subtle clue to the new Bob's true nature is when he urges Matrix to cheat to win the game - the real Bob would *never* suggest such a thing!! Not too many of these left now, I'm going to miss doing my wee bit to delve into them. It hasn't been that easy but it's been a pleasure reviewing each of these episodes, revisiting this show again is like "coming home" to me. X
