West Hollywood, California — If not for "Arrested Development," it's hard to imagine there ever would have been a "Juno," a "Superbad" or the unlikely A-list Hollywood star that is Michael Cera. It seems only appropriate, then, that the 21-year-old's New Year's resolution is to finally return to the beloved Bluth family.

"I think sometime next year, hopefully, we'll be shooting," Cera revealed to MTV News on Thursday afternoon (December 17), giving renewed hope to the die-hard fans who've been pining for "Arrested Development: The Movie" since the groundbreaking comedy was yanked off the air. "I hope [we'll shoot in 2010]. I think that's realistic."

On January 8, Cera will release the endearingly quirky teen flick "Youth in Revolt," but after that, the in-demand star's schedule is wide open. »

'Arrested Development' Inches Closer to the Big Screen

5 October 2009 7:02 AM, PDT | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

We've run numerous Arrested Development stories since the series was canceled in 2006, and you can probably file this one in the same land of "Yes, sometime soon!" But it never hurts to keep fueling the fan fire, and remind Fox that we'd really really like the Bluths to return. It might be closer than we all think as according to The Hollywood Reporter, Mitch Hurwitz and James Vallely are actively working on a script for an Arrested Development movie. Hurwitz will direct the film.

Hurwitz has said in the past that he wouldn't even begin to write a script unless all of the actors were committed, and THR notes that schedule conflicts remain one of the biggest hurdles of a big-screen Bluth reunion. But perhaps this is a sign that Hurwitz and Vallely know something we don't, and that the super careers the show spawned (notably Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, »

Arrested Development Movie Actually Being Written

4 October 2009 11:53 PM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

After years of endless teasing from everyone who might be involved, it looks like the Arrested Development movie may actually have some real forward motion. Series creator Mitchell Hurwitz and co-exec producer James Valley are reportedly, at last, writing an Arrested Development: The Movie script. THR says they.re working on it in concert with a new series they.re prepping with Will Arnett and the cynical side of me, the side which has spent years tracking down fake Arrested Development rumors intentionally generated by the show.s cast, suspects that this is all just some wild ruse meant to help them promote their new show. I.d love to be wrong. Until I.m proven wrong, let.s assume this thing is really going down and somewhere out there the first words of an Arrested Development movie are already on a page, or at least a computer screen. »

Another round of Wtf this week courtesy of an ingenious website that capitalizes on our inherent need to see the Predator battle something. Anything. Even if it's the United Trust Company Building in Providence, Ri. But first, Jason Bateman has something to say regarding people always asking him about that damn movie version of that damn TV show he was in one time. You know the one.

The Good

• In an interview with Collider for his new movie Extract, Jason Bateman offers some sound advice for Arrested Development fans: the movie's still coming, so please be patient and stop freaking out over it before a script is even finished.

I’ve always felt bad that I never had more information to give people when they asked me about it, but I guess people kind of got frustrated by that and they just started kind of making up their own sort of “well, »

'Arrested Development' Film Is 'Happening'

22 March 2009 10:33 PM, PDT | CinemaSpy | See recent CinemaSpy news »

Fans of the critically acclaimed but short-lived comedy series Arrested Development can perhaps feel a little more upbeat about the prospect of a movie spin-off now that Will Arnett, one of the stars of the series, has indicated that it will definitely happen.

Speculation that there will be an Arrested Development movie has been ongoing for months but there has been no official confirmation that one will be made. Acording to Vancouver's Georgia Straight, however, Arnett was adamant that a movie would happen when he spoke at a recent event in Los Angeles to promote the animated film Monsters vs. Aliens.

"I hate to say the same thing that I have been saying for a long time which is 'it's happening' but 'it's happening,'" Arnett is quoted as saying. "Hopefully we will get to it by the end of this year."

Arnett also said that the creator of Arrested Development, »
