| Plot Summary |
Conrad Rosen runs his Swedish family's grand estate Sommarholm since his adventurous 'golden boy' brother Philip sneakily left for Argentina years ago. His spoiled, jobless Bavarian wife Ulrika von Meiningen fails even to mind their angelic pre-teen son Benny, who could die from an asthmatic crisis without the passing visit of family portrait-engaged Stockholm photographer Stine Hamsun's best friend, hospital pediatric nurse Britta Katting, engaged to hot surgeon Martin Winter and about to study medicine herself. So Conrad takes his mother Ella's advice to hire a nurse: Britta, and the two click to the point of doubting their committed relationships. *. Britta witnesses Ursula's adultery with first fiancee Philip, who returned to demand an advance on her inheritance to save his Argentine estate which Conrad can't afford, but may rather flee back then denounce them.
