The last totally good 'My Family' Christmas special
15 December 2016 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Not all the Christmas specials in the second half of 'My Family's' 11 year run (basically the post Nick years) were much good, largely because the BBC in their wisdom shoved two episodes together and hoped nobody would notice.

This episode is a good one though, and shows Robert Lindsay and Zoe Wannamaker at their brilliant bests as Ben and Susan. There are some lovely moments, as well as a more poignant end.

In a rare twist for 'My Family' there are even multiple story lines going on, and they all work, allowing the ever growing supporting cast to show how good they can be with decent material.

This is probably the last good 'My Family' Christmas special.
