You can't really compare this is to the first, cause this one is different, this one takes place in a nut ward. One of the good things about this one is that it has Tobin Bell from Saw,, yes Jigsaw is back and yes he has a tape recorder, he plays the good Dr. treating his patients, he teaches them to face their fears head on,, starting off the movie 2 kids watch as their parents are brutally murdered by the Boogeyman, then skip to 10 years later, the brother is just leaving the clinic, and his sister enters. One by one you have patients getting stalked by the Boogeyman, i guess you could say that this is part slasher, part who did it, part horror, all rolled into one. Yes some of it is corny, the death scenes are pretty gross, ala the Saw traps, another Tobin Bell feature, it's pretty decent as long as you don't expect it to follow the 1st one.
