The unsolved case of a country singer comes to light when Garrett, Will Jeffries old detective partner, comes with some new evidence that has been found. The killing of Truck Sugar in front of the club where he and his brothers, the Sugar Brothers, had an engagement. Since the trio was from Nashville, and the investigation in Philadelphia doesn't unearth anything new, Lilly and Scotty are sent to investigate Truck's estranged wife and Ty Sugar, the surviving sibling of the dead man.

Meanwhile, back in Philadelphia the Cold Case unit begins to do their own investigation. They are interested in Edie Lowe, a headliner that shared the stage with Truck Sugar, even singing a nice duet with the dead man. Her manager, clearly was interested in Truck, but not in the rest of the band. That, the detectives discovered was a sore issue for Ty.

In Nashville, Scotty, who had hated the assignment, gets cozy with a female local detective. Visits to the widow, Honey Sugar, also gives Lilly and Scotty a clue as to what direction to go. Ty Sugar is the key to the mystery of what happened to Truck.

Directed by Steve Boyum and written by the creator of the show, Meredith Stiehm, the episode has a good plot. Good all around performances by Shaun Benson, Tamara Braun, Sean Bridgers, and Polly Shannon. The principals show why their teamwork makes this series such an enjoyable crime drama.
