Caught this on cable tonight and I was pleasantly surprised by the thoughtfulness of the writing, the sleekness of the production and the excellent performances. This short little film is populated with 3-dimensional characters, not caricatures, and the underlying theme of the lives of professional escorts is handled in a genuinely insightful way. Isabella Rossellini as Antonia, the head of the agency, and Rosikolaj Coaster-Waldau as Alex, her prize employee, are stand-outs, but everyone does a fine job. It's not a comedy, as it's billed, but rather a character study which goes below the surface of the characters' lives to reveal the humanity and need underneath.
