Storyline

Word has reached Camelot that since Derrick's death which Duncan Draconarius was responsible for, Kengary is locked in civil war with Derrick's clan fighting King Ian's for his not killing Duncan. King Arthur has Valiant lead a party, including Rowanne, escorting Duncan north, not really caring that Valiant doesn't care for him either. But after chasing down Duncan on a crumbling bridge as he flees, Valiant is carried downriver with him and both are presumed dead. Valiant has to make the rest of the journey alone to see Duncan brought to justice, meaning his enemy is the only one around who can help him when he sickens. Written by brainybrailler@comcast.net

Quotes

[first lines]
Prince Valiant: Well done, Rowanne. In fact, yours was the closest of all.
Rowenne: You sound surprised, Valiant. As if I never win.
Arn: It's more like you never lose.
Prince Valiant: And I, for one, am beginning to be bored by it.
Rowenne: What was that, my narrow-minded prince?
Merlin: Valiant, come with me.
Prince Valiant: [bowing] Alas, duty calls.
Rowenne: Let's hope it doesn't call for much skill with a blade.
