Trivia:

When DC pulls out the pistol from its holder in the generator chamber, its sound is identical to Return to Castle Wolfenstein (2001) (VG) when the player swaps weapons. Similarly, when the soldiers emerge from the truck, the slamming noise is the same as in RTCW when the player attempts to open a locked wooden door.

Shows that talent still trumps budget! Very good, smart horror gem!

The Outpost is a perfect example of how to make a GOOD horror movie on a small budget. Dog Soldiers come to mind but this film I'm sure had an even smaller budget.

Using a smart script, good casting and camera work that provided perfect mood and atmosphere, proves that movie making is still an art and talent IS talent.

While not excessive in the gore or the effects department, the film shines as a perfect example of quality story making and a solid little horror film.

It actually reminds me of a R rated Twilight Zone episode ;) So if you like a good story, Nazi experiments, or zombies...or all the above, look no farther and find the closest rental store, pop some popcorn, turn the lights out and give The Outpost a look! I quite enjoyed it :)

Regards, Roland PS - the lead actor (Ray Stevenson) is the next Frank Castle aka The Punisher in the up coming Punisher: War Zone movie, a much better choice than Thomas Jane IMO
