Trivia

The producers of SLITHER confiscated one of Lloyd Kaufman's videotapes, to protect any spoilers from getting out before the film was released. They were unaware that it was actually his second tape, and that he had already pocketed enough material to make this featurette. See more »

A really funny behind-the-scenes short documentary

Troma studio president Lloyd Kaufman gave "Slither" writer/director James Gunn his first big break with the hilariously wild'n'raunchy "Tromeo & Juliet," so Gunn decided to repay the favor by giving rascally old Lloyd a one line cameo part as a sad drunk in a police station scene in his directorial debut "Slither." Lloyd's video diary of his day on the set is not surprisingly very funny stuff, especially when he comments on his costume and marvels at how lavish his trailer is (he even claims it's better than his office at Troma!). Kaufman also goofs off with cast members Nathan Fillion and Jenna Fischer, plus we get to see Gunn in action blocking the scene with the actors. Alas, poor Lloyd's sole line wound up getting cut from the final version of the picture. But at least he's still in the film. And this nine minute short feature rates as a total hoot all the same.
