Great Tribute to Funk Music of the 1970's
20 November 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Sinbad's Soul Music Festival spread the Funk across the Caribbean for five straight years hitting venues in Jamaica, Saint Martin/St. Maarten, Aruba (twice) and St. Thomas. The concert series featured performances by some of the greatest Funk, R&B and Gospel artists including Earth, Wind & Fire, Stephanie Mills, KC and The Sunshine Band, The Emotions, Teena Marie, The Gap Band, Smokey Robinson, Chaka Khan, Isaac Hayes, The Isley Brothers and many, many others.

For those who traveled to the festivals, activities included daily beach parties, and nightly after-parties into the wee hours at many of the local bars and restaurants. And all of this was documented by the cameras for cable, pay-per-view, and one of the earliest online communities on the Net.
