A struggling horror writer, Martin Hale(Shannon Solo), receives yet another rejection letter for one of his stories. That is the final straw for his domineering wife Alice (Christine Mangone) who insists that he should give up on his dream of being a writer and sell his laptop in order to pay the bills. When he goes to the local pawnshop to reluctantly sell his computer he notices in the window of the shop something quite remarkable. A pillow reputed to have belonged to horror legend Howard Phillips Lovecraft. He cannot resist using his laptop to buy the pillow as he knows that Lovecraft based many of his stories on dreams that he experienced while resting his head upon that very pillow. Will he be similarly inspired to come up with great works of cosmic horror by the pillow? Written by
This is a short story that was posted on IMDb in a new service that allows people in the US to view some free films and TV shows. Let's hope this becomes popular and spreads to other markets.
LOVECRAFT'S PILLOW is a story that was reportedly inspired from a suggestion by Steven King. A poor shmoe has been trying for years to get published to no avail. His wife is fed up and tells him to sell his computer and stop with his dream (nice lady, huh?). So, when he goes to the pawn shop, he sees a pillow in the window that supposedly belonged to famed horror writer H.P. Lovecraft. According to Wikipedia, Lovecraft was famous for gaining inspiration from his bizarre dreams. When he buys the pillow instead of selling the laptop, strange and unexpected things occur in this very clever short film.
