- During a failed experiment, Samantha is transported into a parallel universe where she cloaks Earth to save it from an Ori attack. Getting back to her own universe is not met with sympathy.
- After an experiment to increase the range of Merlin's device goes terribly wrong, Sam has an accident which transports her to a parallel universe, where SG-1 has a very different composition, since history was changed by a failed attack by one Ori ship... and a whole fleet is expected soon. She insists upon abandoning the -killed- parallel Carter's line of work and pursues hiding the entire parallel Earth, and it works. Even when the Ori fire at their position, nobody is hurt. The parallel Hank Landry is President, and three years prior had imposed permanent Martial Law. The more Carter learns about the perversion of civil liberties, the more she shifts her efforts to restoring them, even when rewarded by a post as Presidential Defense Adviser. Thus incurs the active wrath of those in power who are eager to remain so. Time to get back, but how?—KGF Vissers
- Now recovered from her wounds at the hands of the Ori, Samantha Carter continues to experiment with the Ancients' cloaking device. Suddenly however, she finds herself shifted to a parallel universe where things are not quite the same: General Hammond is still in charge of the SGC; Hank Landry is President of the United States; and none of her colleagues are around anymore. Earth is expecting the Ori to attack in 5 days or so, and she assists them by using the cloaking device. She soon finds herself a hero for having saved the planet and is named to the President's staff. This Earth is different, however, with the U.S. under martial law and civil liberties curtailed. She turns to someone she knows to help her get back to her own reality. It seems that those in power have no intention of letting her leave.—garykmcd
- Sam has recovered and is researching a force shield in Merlin's device when out of the blue she vanishes. Soon, she finds that she was transported to the SG-1 in a parallel universe where Samantha Carter has just died in her experiment. Further, people that she knows have different fates. When she learns that Earth will be attacked in five days by the Ori, she agrees to help President Hank Landry save the world. But she soon finds that Landry is a dictator that keeps the world under Martial Law and does not intend to return civil rights to the population.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
