A Note Regarding Spoilers

The following FAQ entries may contain spoilers. Only the biggest ones (if any) will be covered with spoiler tags. Spoiler tags have been used sparingly in order to make the page more readable.

For detailed information about the amounts and types of (a) sex and nudity, (b) violence and gore, (c) profanity, (d) alcohol, drugs, and smoking, and (e) frightening and intense scenes in this movie, consult the IMDb Parents Guide for this movie. The Parents Guide for War, Inc can be found here.

No. War, Inc. was based on a screenplay written by principal actor John Cusack and American writers Mark Leyner and Jeremy Pikser. The story is partly inspired by Naomi Klein's article "Baghdad Year Zero: Pillaging Iraq in pursuit of a neocon utopia", which was published in the September 2004 issue of The Harper's Magazine.

There is no company named Tamerlane active in the middle east.

No. War Inc. is not a direct sequel. Cusack has said that Disney did not want to make a sequel but he tried to incorporate the idea of Grosse Pointe Blank into War Inc. The characters are different, as is the location.

Why Hilary Duff?

John Cusack wrote the part of Yonica with Hilary Duff in mind. At first she wanted to reject it as it meant having to play another popstar but ultimately gave in as she realized that it is a very different kind of "popstar". Cusack has also praised Duff's acting skills in this movie, calling her "a great actress" and a "revelation every day".
