Quite good.
This is the second documentary on Yellow Fever that I've seen recently, so much of what was said I was familiar. However, the other show was much more involved with the work of the American scientists in Cuba working on the mosquito vector theory. This installment of "The American Experience" covered this, but was a much more general show. It begins with outbreaks of Yellow Fever in the Mississippi River area in the 1800s and later concerns the American efforts to eradicate the illness in Cuba and other tropical locales.
Like a typical show in the series, it's filled with excellent narration, expert interviews and vintage photos--along with high production values and nice music. It is about average in quality for the program. My only qualm with the show is that MOST viewers could probably care less about Yellow Fever eradication--they just are happy to know the problem has been, for the most part, eliminated. Worth seeing even if it isn't the most commercial of topics.
