Matt Jackson Joins Mark Gordon Co. as Film Chief

Veteran producer Matt Jackson has joined the Mark Gordon Co. as head of film production and acquisition following two years at Im Global.

He will be charged with overseeing the company’s film operations including managing day-to-day development and production on projects, and identifying feature content for acquisition by the company. The announcement was made today by CEO Mark Gordon, to whom Jackson will report.

“Matt is a terrifically talented producer with great creative instincts and excellent taste. He knows how to put movies together and is an advocate for unique creative voices and captivating original stories. We look forward to building a robust film slate together,” said Gordon.

Jackson said of Gordon, “From ‘Saving Private Ryan’ to ‘Steve Jobs,’ Mark has established himself as a visionary producer whose films generate legacies of their own. He has positioned the Mark Gordon Company as a studio that creates exceptional, story-driven content »

Adam McKay at Art for Amnesty Brunch: ‘It’s Been an Amazing Year for Movies Challenging Entrenched Power’

“We were thinking about how we break back into the Hollywood awards season with a social change-human rights message, and since the Globes were first up, we said, ‘why don’t we go for it?'” explained Art for Amnesty’s creative director Marvin Bing at the inaugural Art for Amnesty Pre-Golden Globes Recognition Brunch on Friday afternoon at Chateau Marmont.

There, the historic organization — which was founded 55 years ago, and has fought beside activists from Nelson Mandela to Malala Yousafzai — honored three individuals for artistically promoting freedom of expression: Participant Media founder and chairman Jeff Skoll, “The Big Short’ writer/director Adam McKay and “Homeland” actress Nazanin Boniadi.
