Billy Burke, who portrays a fan-favorite human and father - Charlie Swan - in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, is forty-three years young today.
Born in 1966, Burke has been an active screen actor for almost twenty years. His first appearance was in 1990's Daredreamer, and he has since appeared in about four dozen productions.
Notably, Burke wrote Dead And Breakfast and took on Anthony Hopkins in Fracture. Fracture and the Twilight series aren't the only films within which Burke has portrayed an officer. He's also been a man in blue for Untraceable.
Aside from being a celebrated screen actor, Burke is also quite the avid poker player - according to the rumor mill - and he appears on some of

Colin Hanks is set to star in Fox's thirteen-episode series "Jack and Dan" created by Matt Nix.
This also stars Bradley Whitford and is produced by Fox TV Studios.
Story focuses on Jack (Hanks), an ambitious, by-the-book detective who undermines himself with the result of winding up in a dead-end job at the Los Angeles Police Department. On top of that, he's been partnered with Dan (played by Whitford) who is a wild-card cop as well as a drunk. The only thing keeping Dan in the job is a heroic act years ago.
Filming on the action comedy is slated to begin early next year.
Hanks recently did an arc on AMC's "Mad Men" and was also in the recent successful comedy "The House Bunny" as well as the Diane Lane thriller "Untraceable" and "The Great Buck Howard" with John Malkovich.

Truth be told, Naturi Naughton will be one of the few breakout stars from the "Fame" reboot. She plays Denise, a classical pianist with a dream. Alongside her is Asher Book as Marco, a singer/actor wannabe.
Kevin Tencharoen makes his feature film debut as a director working from a script by Allison Burnett ("Untraceable," "Resurrecting the Champ").
In our interview, Naturi and Asher talked about:
*** Their involvement with the film
*** Their characters
*** Irene Cara and Debbie Allen
*** The remake's history
Here you go and have fun!
'Fame,' with Asher Book, Paul McGill, Naturi Naughton, Kay Panabaker, Kherington Payne, Collins Pennie, Anna Maria Perez de Tagle. Directed by Kevin Tancharoen, from a screenplay by Allison Burnett, based on the 1980 movie screenplay by Christopher Gore. 107 minutes. Rated PG for thematic material including teen drinking, a sexual situation and language. Several theaters.

[DVD Review] Fracture

When Grisham was king of the novel-to-movie adaptation, a title stolen briefly from the hands of Stephen King, law dramas would hit theaters every year and would consistently entertain. As the Hollywood system is wont to do, the introduction of Grisham-films to the theatrical sphere spurred a mass exodus of other legal dramas from the page to the screen. But then there was a lull. It seemed for quite a while that stories about court cases were best shown on television – or maybe it was that audiences were inundated with Law & Order spin-offs to the point that no one wanted to pay to see them in theaters – who knows. The point is, when Fracture rolled around in 2007 it actually seemed fresh. Absence truly does make the heart grow fonder.
But the heart is fickle; or rather, the heart isn’t so easily fooled by the peak-a-boo antics of a film genre.

Disney and Diane Lane Jump on 'Secretariat'

Diane Lane's grabbing the reins in Disney's new film Secretariat. Lane will be starring as Penny Chenery, a housewife who takes over her father's thoroughbreeding farm after he falls ill. She learns the ropes fast, and her horse Secretariat goes on to win the 1973 Triple Crown. Secretariat will focus on her relationship with the prize-winning horse, which is a nice change from movies focusing on relationships between, say, Lane and Richard Gere as in 2008's weepy Nights in Rodanthe.
Randall Wallace, who wrote the screenplays for Atlas Shrugged, We Were Soldiers, Pearl Harbor, and Braveheart, is directing; he also directed We Were Soldiers and The Man in the Iron Mask. Mike Rich is behind the script; he also penned similarly inspirational flicks The Nativity Story, The Rookie, and Finding Forrester.
Secretariat sounds a little bit Seabiscuit-y and a little bit you-go-girl, with a distinct possibility for sappiness. Is Disney

He doesn’t make a big splash on the red carpet and isn’t on the cover of Us magazine every other week (to his great credit), but Colin Hanks has worked steadily and consistently for years in Hollywood. In 2008 alone, he appeared in W., Untraceable, The House Bunny, and episodes of Mad Men and Numb3rs. He also played the lead in The Great Buck Howard, co-starring John Malkovich, Emily Blunt, Steve Zahn, and Tom Hanks, from writer/director Sean McGinly. For me, one of the extra pleasures in watching the new critical darling Wendy and Lucy was noting that it was filmed in Portland, Ore., where I live -- and, more specifically, in the neighborhood of North Portland, where I specifically live. The Walgreens pharmacy that figures heavily in the film's story is one I've been to many times myself (though I've never shoplifted from it -- and now, thanks to Wendy and Lucy, I know not to try!). Even some of the casual dialogue about bus lines and cross streets is accurate.
It gives you a goofy little thrill when you see your town in the movies, doesn't it? It's even better than finding your house on Google Maps. Maybe you're immune to it if you live in New York, L.A., or Chicago, since about half of all movies are filmed in one of those places, but for the rest of us,
