If only the story had been a bit better

Warning: Spoilers
This short-film, which is slightly under ten minutes running times, sets us back several decades into the film-noir era. It brings all the ingredients a good film from this genre needs. Black and white, a daring score that emphasizes the atmosphere in a convincing way and actors who look the part and have some talent. Sadly the result of all this ingredients is only tasteful, if it comes with a good convincing story which this short film doesn't. It switches back and forth between unbelievable and unnecessarily complicated.

I wish I could like this short film more than I actually did as visually and audibly it's really good. Nonetheless I hope the director Dan Gallagher will make another movie soon as talent is definitely there. So far, this 2006 film is still the only in his body of work.
