Pretty good, but a lot like Gears of War
14 January 2007 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I played this game over my friend's house, and i only played from act 3 to the beginning of act 5, and it was pretty good. good graphics, challenging, but I thought it was pretty boring in parts.

You have some humans against you, which work for the Snow Pirates and NEVEC, and you have aliens called the Akrid. But what I thought was stupid was how the Akrid only attacked you, and not the NEVEC workers and the Snow Pirates. A lot of it reminded me of Gears of War (it was not as bloody as Gears of War, and more blood would have made it better), and the vehicles looked like miniatures of the Chrome Hounds vehicles. Some of the achievements are hard to get, like one which is to defeat a giant worm. To defeat this worm, you have to destroy these heat compartments on his sides, but if you take a long time to destroy them, another one will come, which can get extremely annoying.

If you are thinking of getting this game, I would rent it first. My mate said the multi-player is awesome, so if you are disappointed by the 1 player mode, try the multi-player.
