Rob's Got Whosits & Whatsits Galore

by Jason Adams

I'm still traumatized (yes I know that's a strong word, but I need a strong word to get across the scope of the trauma) by the fact that we won't be getting Sofia Coppola's version of The Little Mermaid, so perhaps I'm not the best person to report this news, but here we are. Rob Marshall, the man who inflicted Nine upon the world, has according to Deadline been offered the gig of updating the Beloved Disney Classic to live-action. They say he will make up his mind over the holidays...

Will Rob Marshall Direct The Live-Action ‘Little Mermaid’ For Disney?

Deadline is reporting that Rob Marshall, who is busy, hard at work finishing up on Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns, has been offered the directing reigns on another big project over at the Mouse House.

The film in question is the live-action version of The Little Mermaid, an adaptation of Disney’s 1989 animated musical. Marshall is said to be the studio’s top choice for the high-profile gig, and of course the filmmaker is no stranger to the movie musical after directing the likes of Chicago and Nine. He’s also helmed Memoirs of a Geisha as well as Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Into the Woods, both over at Disney, so their offering of the big job is an obvious one as Marshall certainly has the chops.

Disney has already lined up Lin-Manuel Miranda and Alan Menken to create a blend of old and new songs

“This movement needs leaders, not martyrs,” he added.

Terry Crews Names His Alleged Sexual Abuser
Terry Crews has finally named the man who sexually assaulted him. The Brooklyn Nine Nine star revealed that a "high level Hollywood executive" had sexually harassed him, shortly after the Harvey Weinstein scandal broke. Though, at the time, he wouldn't reveal who it was that assaulted him. Now, he's come forward to name Hollywood agent Adam Venit. Here's what he had to say about the encounter during a recent appearance on Good Morning America.

"I'm looking at him, and he's basically staring at me. And he's sticking his tongue out, and it's overtly sexual kind of tongue moves. I'm sitting there like, it's a party, it's packed, the whole thing, and I'm looking like, is this a joke? I don't understand, it was actually so bizarre, and he keeps coming over to me and I stick my hand out, and he literally takes his hand, and puts it, and squeezes my genitals.

“I don’t feel like a celebrity, and being celebrated is not my favorite part of this job,” she tells People. “My favorite part is going out there and actually doing the show. Crews revealed that he had his genitals fondled by a high-level Hollywood executive in front of the actor's wife. Crews' disclosure via Twitter came a few days after the New York Times and New Yorker reported explosive revelations of sexual harassment and assault allegations against Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein dating back decades. Since, then more and more powerful men in entertainment have been accused as well.

Sources close to Terry Crews say that the man in question was Wme's Adam Venit, which lines up since Wme just announced that Venit is on leave. Venit is now on leave from William Morris Endeavor pending a company probe into the claims. Among those he represents are director Brett Ratner

Malthe shared her story during a press conference in New York City on October 25 where she was joined by attorney Gloria Allred. The actress claims Weinstein forced himself on her during their first meeting, and then on a later date requested she partake in a threesome with him.

Malthe told the press that she met Weinstein in February 2008 at the BAFTA Awards in London while she was working as a spokesperson for LG. Actress and model Natassia Malthe broke her silence on Wednesday, alleging at a New York City press conference this afternoon that Weinstein forced himself onto her and tried to get her to do a threesome, while discussing a role in the musical film “Nine.”

In her opening remarks, Allred urged The Weinstein Company to take action and “put their money where their mouths are” and set up a fund for the victims of Weinstein, who was fired from the company. Allred revealed she sent a letter to TWC requesting a meeting and was set to meet with the board, but was then notified today that only the company’s attorneys would sit with her. She declined

  • Cinelinx
A few days ago, we said we really hoped to see new games to add to our Nintendo Switch libraries during Nintendo's latest Direct. Nintendo delivered in a Big way! Come inside for more!

You can't say Nintendo doesn't play nice with 3rd party gamers anymore. You can't even say that Nintendo doesn't host any edgy games anymore. During Wednesday's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo made sure that they bucked any and all stereotypes by announcing a copious amount of games that ranged anywhere between the kid friendly and the Bethesda violent.

Words can't describe how huge it is that Bethesda is set to release Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus for Nintendo Switch, but we're going to try. It was already pretty cool that we were getting Skyrim on November 17, and Doom was just a matter of time, but neither compare to the Wolfenstein franchise. This is a franchise that is bloody and controversial,
