Storyline

After years of trying to help his fellow Roma (Gypsy) people, Safet Tairov has finally convinced a group of Germans to donate humanitarian goods and build a kindergarten. But many obstacles block Safet's progress in his small Eastern European village: the mayor won't speak to him; the non-Roma citizens are hurt that foreigners are only helping minorities; Safet's organization has little community support and no resources; dealing with Westerners is culturally challenging. Ultimately, the challenges prove victorious. Written by anonymous

Scary picture
10 October 2006 | by (Boston) – See all my reviews

Going into it, I didn't know it was about Gypsies, because I didn't know Roma meant Gypsy. I learned a lot about Gypsies and how they live. Never knew they were from India. It's a really scary picture of their life. With the scary music, scary characters it looks like a scary country! The main guy is incoherent and we're supposed to trust him? And the mayor - a nice-sounding man, but I wonder what people there think about him.

It makes you wonder if anything gets done over there ever. Makes me wonder where my tax money goes! Are there any other movies like this? I don't think I'll be vacationing in Macedonia anytime soon.
