Six months after the rage virus was inflicted on the population of Great Britain, the US Army helps to secure a small area of London for the survivors to repopulate and start again. But not everything goes to plan.
Four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband.
In the 1980s, college student Samantha Hughes takes a strange babysitting job that coincides with a full lunar eclipse. She slowly realizes her clients harbor a terrifying secret; they plan to use her in a satanic ritual.
A loan officer who evicts an old woman from her home finds herself the recipient of a supernatural curse. Desperate, she turns to a seer to try and save her soul, while evil forces work to push her to a breaking point.
In 1921, England is overwhelmed by the loss and grief of World War I. Hoax exposer Florence Cathcart visits a boarding school to explain sightings of a child ghost. Everything she believes unravels as the 'missing' begin to show themselves.
The teenager Jarod invites his best friends Travis and Billy-Ray to have a foursome with a thirty-eight year-old woman. While driving to meet the woman, Travis hit a car parked on the road. When they meet the woman, she gives spiked beer to them and they pass out. When the three friends wake up, they find that they are trapped in the fundamentalist Five Points Trinity Church of the infamous Pastor Abin Cooper and that they will be killed. Meanwhile the church is under siege by ATF agents led by Agent Joseph Keenan that have been ordered to destroy the terrorist cell. Will the teenagers be saved by the agents of the law enforcement agency? Written by

A complete failure from the usually superb Kevin Smith.
I was so disappointed with Red State, I honestly found it to be an extremely bad movie. Normally I love Kevin Smith films, his back catalogue is mighty impressive with the exception of Cop Out, which I heard he made solely for the money to make Red State. The thing I think is wrong is that the script changes tone and direction to often, the film starts out excellently as a kinda teen horror, then it becomes an expose of crazy religious types and then it becomes a gun heist movie. I think it would have benefited from a clearer direction. It's a shame because like I said, it begins strongly but it wasn't long before I was totally bored and not giving a damn about any of it.
Another thing that is surprising is the obvious clichés used during the final act of the film. Guy has a clear shot at shooting a guy which in turn would help him escape but no, he decides to be brave and try and just run past a bunch of these psychos. That was when i realized just how silly this movie really is. it made me think twice about how good of a filmmaker Mr Smith actually is.
One good thing about Red State is the acting, as usual Melissa Leo steals the show with her scenes but everyone in this movie is good. That's about the only good thing I can say I liked about this utter failure of a movie.
