Classic cartoon Halloween special

Just like The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror specials (mainly the first ten of them which I prefer), this is another great Halloween special revolving around Disney's Recess.

Our narrator of this Butch the one with leather jacket and toothpick (background character yet there's his appearance in heatwave episode and Lost Ball) and got the perfect voice thanks to Kath Soucie (Phil of Rugrats). Like Treehouse of Horror, this is combined of three short segments in it.

First one seems to based on Children of the Corn, and I have to say consider this as the weakest or least favourite of the three, with the whole concept of eating oddly-flavoured potato chips turned anyone who eats them in monsters.

There's some filler or moments like fake scare when the TJ and his group hear rustling from nearby bush only it's pesky snitch Randall. There is funny moment when Principal Prickly chastises Cornchip Girl werewolf monster for running in hallway and ripping off the lunchroom doors.

Then it ends after Gus saves Corn-chip Girl, with the bag of potato chips ends up in the kindergarteners' area and they start to eat one of them.

The second segment is obviously a parody of John Carpenter's movie: Christine. Mikey is very attached to his bike named Pegasus. This episode starts good with the colour of the darkened thunderstorm clouds and the little mystery of how Mikey's bike got inside school after colliding with Principal Prickly. Only then, they realise not only Pegasus is alive but is acting evil as well, and they decide to take action by stopping it - even using drawing pins to puncture the tyres like a police stinger. Then gets really serious that Pegasus is then not only bike that's alive, and goes against the humans. Then it ends with them on the school bus to safety...until noticing the bus is going without a driver - I agree with TJ's "Uh-oh". Also, this leaves me with a question of how they got on the bus without noticing there's no driver. Butch is right about not to leave your bikes out in the rain.

The third and final segment based on George A. Romero's horror movie: Night of the Living Dead. Starts when TJ and his group notice Diggers Sam and Dave running from their hole. Lawson, being his usual self, dares Vince LaSalle to get into the hole and stay here for one whole night - not sure what Lawson gains from it. To Vince's surprise and against the dare rule, he is accompanied by rest of the gang. The gang gets chased by zombie versions of Miss Finster (one as detective, one as pirate and one in a wedding dress). It's great with the continuity how they bring back the acidic Tomato Surprise from all the way back to first episode of Recess series.

And the ending here something genius. After defeating the zombies, Diggers doubt about Recess gang claim about zombies (the Diggers are mates - yet they mention their dad) and the trapdoor from the tunnel to cafeteria has vanished. So, as TJ and group find no evidence of their night of horror actually happened, and dismiss it as something they imagined. Unlike to us viewers, when comes the scene where us viewers zoom in shot of the Finsters' glasses (with suspense theme) left lying on the cafeteria floor under the lunch counter, unbeknownst to TJ and his group that they were attacked - totally scary that is.
