different, interesting, average...

are 3 words that come to mind with this anime...its not a bad anime, but I've seen plenty better, and at 24 episode length, it does feel overly long, but if u have the time to spare, u could give it a go...

its set in a dystopian future where humanity fought a war against monsters, and the monsters won...as time passed people forgot the war and the monsters leave humanity alone as long as they get a quota of child sacrifices...the only people fighting against this injustice are the Meros warriors, and no-one appreciates them upsetting the human-monster balance/alliance...

a young boy named Bocca becomes a Meros warrior and travels around fighting the monsters with help from other Meros warriors and their flying Ivermachines (mecha-type motorbikes)...

i originally watched this because i thought it was going to have plenty of action and be for a mature type audience, and while their is action, there isn't much blood or real violence and no nudity, but the overall themes are mature...the animation looks older than the show actually is, but the story is kind of engaging...its not bad but not great...

Okay, despite forced fan server

Warning: Spoilers
I ended up watching this out of nowhere in the qurinteen period because why not.

The show is about some plain ordinary kid called Bocca who becomes a Meros warrior and travels around to fight the monster union. I admit while the series has good idea, it ends up getting flatten by poor writing, scenes that are pure cringe or don't make any chance or just terrible dialogue. For instance in one episode we go to this town our protagonist with his companion stay at this hotel, at one point we learn that children are being kidnap and then in another scene we see these ugly looking folks enter a bathhouse with everyone behaving like robots.

Animation wise it wasn't that good either, even though The Melody of oblivion was a very beautiful looking girl. And with the fan server (even Ted Sroka agreed with me on this) coming out of no where it made it look worse.

On that brightside the dub was very good by Geneon Entertainment which I can applaud and I thought the series was a fun adventure too.

My official rating for this anime is 6/10
