Nice Guy Keiichi is doing his best as a poor student at a tech college, but his good nature is taken advantage of relentlessly. One day he is attempting to order a pizza over the phone (being stuck at the dorm to take messages for upperclassmen) and by fate reaches the Goddess Help Line. Before he knows it he is presented with a real live goddess named Belldandy who will grant him one and only one wish. Still suspecting he is the butt of an elaborate joke, he wishes for her to be by his side forever. His wish is granted! It would seem his luck has changed, but he finds out that having a goddess is no way to avoid trouble. Written by
In Episode 1.1, Keiichi is told to get a phone call for one of his dorm mates at exactly 7:00PM. The entire second half of the episode focuses on him getting home to receive the call. At precisely 8:00PM [as shown by the clock on his table] he picks up the phone to contact his dorm mate about the call, and accidentally calls the Goddess Hotline. It is very clearly shown he does this at 8:00PM. In Episode 1.2, during the sequence where Belldandy talks to the electronics in Keiichi's room, the LCD clock on the Betamax player reads 7:30PM. Didn't see the Anime or Manga. Decided to watch the movie instead. At first it gets a bit confusing because you don't know the background but you quickly catch up. It truly is a romantic action filled with love story that has the power to touch your heart and wish for true love or a lower just like our Goddess. I did love the concept of having Goddesses helping you out, alas it's true only in the Anime.
Overall, it was pretty great. I enjoyed it fully, I was close to tears at some point but held it together. I just wish I could find someone that I could love unconditionally as well.
