The second of three featurettes made for the SERPICO DVD from Paramount. Director Sidney Lumet and producer Martin Bregman are interviewed about the shooting of the picture. Lumet talks about thoughts on first day filming as he tries to get as many small shots as he can and often he doesn't like the actors working. He mentions that this ended up helping Pacino because of the type of character he was playing and the actor feeling that he might only get one take so he wanted to nail it the first time out. He also talks about having real police on the set to take care of issues like crowds and what this did for the movie. Lumet talks about the only issue with the film was the actual post-production when they were on a tight schedule to get everything edited and put together. There's also some talk Lumet not being shocked at the film getting such great reviews. At less than ten-minutes one really shouldn't expect anything ground-breaking or anything in great detail but I think for the most part that you get some good information about the making of the film. Lumet is always fascinating to listen to so he comes across quite well and manages to keep you entertained with the stories.
