During a TV debate, Kitty asserts that Canada sent troops to Vietnam. The liberal commentator says that Kitty is wrong. The moderator, who mentions that his parents live in Montreal, is asked to resolve the argument and states that, while some Canadians served in the U.S. armed forces in Vietnam, Canada did not send troops. This is technically incorrect. Canada sent troops to Vietnam, although after the U.S. had departed. Starting in 1973, "Operation Gallant" had Canada sending peacekeeping troops to Vietnam as part of the International Commission of Control and Supervision (ICCS) Vietnam.
