Hillary wants a car and Dave is against it. Vicky thinks maybe Dave should reconsider but when Dave mentions it to his friend Joe at work, Joe gives Dave the idea of writing up a car contract with Hillary. Dave & Vicky draw up a contract with many stipulations that Hillary must follow to the tee or else they take back the car. Dave & Vicky wind up getting a little too carried away and start taking advantage of the contract's stipulations.
Meanwhile Mike's ex girlfriend Heidi shows an interest in Larry. Larry asks Dave what to do but Dave is dead set against it. When Larry pleads, Dave advises him it's only ok if Mike doesn't have a problem with it. Mike gives Larry the green light. Is Heidi really into Larry or is she trying to make Mike jealous?
Although Dave & Vicky always try to be the best parents they can possibly be, they're still out of Ward & June Cleaver's league. Dave can ultimately try & help solve his kid's problems but usually in a roundabout way.
