Finest Wolf film ever made
1 October 2006 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

Wolf biologist L David Mech and photographer Jim Brandenburg ventured to the high arctic in 1986 and subsequently produced award winning books about their journey, the Arctic Wolf; living with the Pack (Mech) and White Wolf: Living with an Arctic Legend (Brandenburg) This National Geographic film is the documentary of that exceptional journey, by two devoted men who are determined to enlighten the world about the true nature of this planets most misunderstood carnivorous mammal. In this film the Wolves life cycle is revealed as it battles the elements to forge out an existence in the brutal high arctic landscape. This film features totally natural footage of the wolves hunting and living in one of the worlds last untouched wilderness areas. An exceptional documentary from the National Geographic society and one which truly needs a release on a high quality DVD.
