After private investigator and former police officer Vicki Nelson finds a body in an alley, she's approached by the dead man's fiancée, Coreen Fennel, to investigate the case. Vicki had actually seen the assault and pursued the attacker but he seemed to vanish into thin air. The victim was completely drained of blood and she learns from her ex-police partner, Det. Mike Celluci, that this is the second victim to die this way. The coroner's report raises as many questions as it answers and Vicki isn't prone to believe in the existence of vampires. An encounter in the park may lead to her rethinking that point of view. Written by garykmcd

Did You Know?

[first lines]
Vicki Nelson: Hi, mom. Yeah, my date ended early so I thought I'd give you a call. Mom, with you, if it ends too late, I'm going too fast, if it ends too early, I've driven him away. You know what? We just didn't fit, okay?
[long pause]
Vicki Nelson: No, I did not hit him.

Good Start to a Series
21 June 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This is a good start to a new series and like all new series the actors are working on development of their characters. It seems a little over acted as first but as the series progresses they settle in and everything takes off.

The female lead is Vicki. She is an ex-cop turned Private Eye and stumbles upon cases that delve into the supernatural. She meets Henry, an incredibly sexy 500 year old vampire and son of King Henry. They begin working together to solve mysterious deaths.

Along comes Mike, Vicki's former lover and partner, who is also incredibly sexy and the tension mounts. Sexual tension between Vicki and the men as well as jealousy issues between the two male leads.

NOt a lot of romance in the first two installments, but looking forward to see where it goes on that front but in the meantime the supernatural mystery is enough to keep me coming back.
