Good fun

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 347 is good fun, mainly because it has that laboratory scene which is highly reminiscent of the FRANKENSTEIN films, particularly those made contemporaneously by Hammer Films. While the special effects budget (or lack thereof) means that we doesn't actually get to see Barnabas anti-age, the climax is exciting and the addition of a hypnosis sub-plot adds to the intrigue.

Don't rush the treatments. It will not end well.

Warning: Spoilers
If Barnabas has anyone to blame for the old man's hand, it's himself. After all, it was him who badgered Julia into going on with the experiment before she thought it was the right time. Barnabas is sleeping through much of the episode and Julia uses that as an opportunity to hypnotize Victoria and show her Barnabas in his coffin. There are special effects involving the crystal that Julia uses, creating a kaleidoscopic effect on screen and it is pretty neat to watch. The scene where Julia takes Victoria into Barnabas's crypt is neat too.

Certainly the plot twist of Barnabas turning old was inevitable, and it is a lot more subtle here than it was in the 1971 movie version that dealt with the storyline anymore violin detail. The storyline here focuses on Victoria, Barnabas and Julia, but Carolyn is there for a little bit as well, and Julia refers to her as a very dramatic young woman. In the final scene, Barnabas is far calmer for a man going through such a predicament, and secretly maybe he realize that he was responsible since he was the one who pushed for the treatments to move faster. I love Julia's little whimper at the end too as if she secretly realized that this could spell the end.
