Romance in the air
mitchrmp14 July 2016
This episode focuses on a beauty pageant child who is made to look like an adult. The team starts looking at possible motives and several persons of interest. But the truth is much sadder than it should be. I was all on the father's side on this episode. I think he should have been given his little girl's remains to bury!

The romance of Jack and Angela is embraced in this episode as she agrees to go out with him. Unfortunately it went better than she was hoping. This is the beginning of a beautiful thing!

The closing scene was pretty romantic as well. The romantic tension was just rolling off of Booth and Bones. Booth had a decision to make (similar to one Bones had to make in Season 1), and he made the right decision, much to my satisfaction. We get a tease at a possible scene. We are teased this way many times over the next few seasons!

Hmm

I remember watching these episodes the first time 15 years ago and how much I'd likes his episode.

The begining of Angela & Hodgins and Booth telling Bones he thinks she's beautiful and the way she reacted, really longing for him to stay there with her.

I find it cute how they talk real close to each other nobody talks to other people that close unless you're dating that person lol.

Child Abuse?
Hitchcoc18 January 2023
This centers on the world of beauty pageants for young girls. One of the stars disappears and her body washes up in a water treatment plan several weeks later. Because of the intensity of the pageants, several people are seen as possible suspects, including the girl's mother. Booth and Brennan do their bull in the china closet thing, especially at the dance studio and the prepping room for a pageant. We get a look at the hard core competitiveness that goes into these things as well as the abuses to body and soul. As subplot we have Hodgins finally asking Angela for a date and what transpires as a result. There is a real cloud of sadness hanging over things.

Hey Bones Booth!
This episode was good but also sad. Not a fan of any beauty pageants but child pageants should not be a thing they should just be kids. Could Cam and Booth be anymore obvious and awkward this episode? When everyone is reminiscing Booths line "I miss normal people " was funny. Yessss Cam my evening wear is comfy pajamas. Having your child sleep in a corset should be considered torture. I get it Angela I loved the swings too. Great job Hodgins simple and meaningful so perfect. Really Boned you can't just walk in and start bending little girls over without saying anything sheesh. I understand what you're saying Angela but you're meant to be together!

It's called dazzle Warning: Spoilers
It is always an interesting episode when the crime of the week involves the death of a child and the b-plot is ~romance~

I'm not going to comment on beauty pageants as a whole, but Brianna's mom is a perfect example of a parent that takes it too far. Corsets, veneers, malnorishment, and drugs? Even if Brianna did want all that work done, she was literally 9. 9 year olds don't always make the best decisions as evident by Haley accidently killing her and not telling anyone because she wanted to participate in the pageant.

Moving onto the romance, the swing date was VERY cute and wholesome (though the memory of Hodgins sniffing Angela's hair is still crystal clear in my mind). Ultimately, I appreciate that Angela remained firm on not wanting their relationship to progress even though the date went very well.

Things to note: Bones bonding with the girls at the dance class was adorable. The BUTT GRAPH, oh my god. Bones: I never understood why women want to change themselves, Booth: well duh because you are beautiful??? And structured??

A line I loved: Emo, it's called emo.

Hi the Bones Booth :)
