A not-so-shock reveal
Leofwine_draca11 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 306 offers a continuation of David and Sarah's misadventures, although the central storyline is on the rivalry between Barnabas and Burke. I found Barnabas' "shock" reveal to Victoria that Burke's been investigating him to be rather less than shocking; she does seem to be one step behind recently.

You are a meddlesome and domineering woman!

Warning: Spoilers
For some reason I find that aspect about Julia to be fascinating, and in a Tallulah Bankhead like way, Grayson Hall is fascinating, making me wonder how she would have been as Vera Charles in "Auntie Mame". Something tells me that she'd be a hoot to share the cocktail hour with, either as the actress or the character. Julia doesn't even flinch when Barnabas insults her in this manner, as if she is proud of this aspect of her personality.

With nothing revealed about the Collins family crypt, that aspect is a let down, and the aftermath of the story with Victoria is more character based with only a few details exposed. Barnabas shares emotions about his feelings towards Sarah with the audience which shows a great deal of vulnerability for him and and ends the episode on a rather somber note. This gives a nice mystery to watch the pre-vampire Barnabas was really like, although it is obvious that he was still extremely snobbish and domineering with servants, a little laugh given his analogy of Julia.
